Catherine has specialised in Family Law for 16 years and has a wealth of experience dealing with all problems including divorce, separation of Civil Partners, pre- and post- nuptial agreements, issues relating to cohabiting couples and cases involving children. She has represented clients in cases involving high value assets, including those with assets held outside the UK and has of course dealt with many matters where the assets are more modest. She has considerable experience in dealing with disputes as to where the children will live, applications for the children to be removed from the UK and other associated issues.
She is a collaborative lawyer and mediator. As such she is committed to dealing with matters in a constructive and practical way for the benefit of her clients. She trained as a collaborative lawyer in 2006 and has successfully concluded many cases using the collaborative process.
As a family mediator, she is able to assist couples to agree how to deal with their separation including solving disputes concerning children and financial issues. She has successfully concluded many cases through the mediation process. If mediation is unsuccessful she is qualified to sign the essential Mediation Assessment (MIAMS) form.
As a family lawyer, a collaborative specialist and a mediator Catherine offers her clients all options to help to resolve matters following the breakdown of a relationship. Although she will attempt to resolve disputes without the need for court proceedings, she has a wealth of experience in handling disputed cases when this becomes necessary.
